Mihail Mihaylov (Mike)
I am currently a post-doctoral researcher in the AI lab of Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. I apply machine learning techniques to develop intelligent algorithms for green energy trading in smart grids, based on real-world data of energy production and consumption.
Previously, I was a senior research scientist at Sensing & Control Systems in Barcelona, Spain, working on smart grids and the internet of things. Prior to that, I was a post-doctoral researcher at the Combinatorial Optimisation and Decision Support (CODeS) Research Group, University of Leuven in Gent, Belgium.
The work in my Ph.D. focused on the development of intelligent algorithms forcoordination and self-organization of decentralized systems, such as wireless sensor networks. You can download a self-explanatory video of my Ph.D. simulations.
I am also interested in the Bitcoin concept and technology. I established the Barcelona Bitcoin Community, which I also organized for 2 years. It is one of the fastest growing Bitcoin Meetups worldwide. The Bitcoin concept has inspired some of my recent publications.
