I am a PhD student in Bart de Boer’s ABACUS group at the AI lab of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (start: 2022). My research focuses on using AI and deep neural networks to characterize and understand how humans time their vocal exchanges interactively. This work is supported by the FWO project Interactive Vocal Rhythms [G034720N].
My research interests revolve around the use of digital signal processing and AI techniques applied to speech production and modelling. I recieved my BS and MSc degrees in Electronic Engineering from Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María in Valparaíso, Chile, in 2018. My MSc thesis focused on the mathematical modeling of intrinsic laryngeal muscular activity and analyzing its impact on numerical models of vocal fold vibration.
