Diederik M. Roijers is a senior researcher at the AI lab at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). His main research interests are reinforcement learning, planning, and multi-objective decision making. Please check out our tutorials or book for an introduction to multi-objective models and methods for RL and planning, or his publication page for information about his latest research. Other interests of Diederik’s are multi-agent systems, game theory, machine learning, robotics, e-tutoring systems, and education.
Diederik obtained his PhD at the University of Amsterdam under the supervision of Shimon Whiteson and Frans Oliehoek. After his PhD, I worked on social robotics in the TERESA project, at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Oxford; as an FWO Postdoctoral Fellow on Multi-objective Reinforcement learning with Guarantees at the VUB; and as assistant professor at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He is currently a senior researcher in the AI Research group, where he is involved in the supervision of PhD students, and is part of the Flemish AI plan team.
