Anna is a researcher of language evolution at the Centre for Cultural Evolution, Stockholm University, Sweden. Her research interests are related to several research areas at the VUB Lab, including Computational Construction Grammar, Emergent Communication and Language, and Computational Creativity.
I will be at VUB AI Lab as a guest researcher from September to the end of the year 2019 (three months). My research involves language change and language origin. I am currently initiating work on modelling language processing and production, in order to identify minimal cognitive prerequisites for these tasks, as well as describing the emergence of linguistic categories from a construction grammar perspective.
The aim of my visit is to interact with researchers in these areas, to relate and compare the paradigms and perspectives applied at VUB AI Lab to those that are present at the Centre for Cultural Evolution and to establish contacts and possible collaborations.
