Yailen Martinez Jimenez received the B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in Computer Science from the Central University of Las Villas, Cuba, in 2004 and 2007, respectively. In 2008 she obtained the M.Sc degree in Computer Science from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and afterwards, in 2012, she finished her PhD also at the VUB. She was a full professor at the Computer Science department of the Central University of Las Villas until August 2022 and the head of the department for 5 years. During this time she collaborated with different projects from the VUB and visited the lab several times. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher and her main interests are Reinforcement Learning, Multi-agent Systems and Operations Research.
