Eline Van Damme is a PhD candidate at the AI lab, working in the research group of Pieter Libin. Before joining the lab, she obtained a MSc in Bioscience Engineering and a MSc in Global Health from Ghent University, and worked as an epidemiologist at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp.
Her research focuses on the use of multi-objective reinforcement learning algorithms in the context of epidemic mitigation and genomics. She is employed on the FWO SBO ANTICIPATE project under supervision of Prof. Dr. Pieter Libin, Prof. Dr. Ann Nowé, and Prof. Dr. Niel Hens (UHasselt and UAntwerpen).
