I’m a postdoc researcher at the AI Lab of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where I’m working on the ANTICIPATE project. In this project, the goals are both to quickly detect new pathogens in a hospital setting and, when a epidemic can not be prevented, use reinforcement learning to learn what the optimal policies are to reduce the impact of an epidemic as much as possible.
I graduated from the KU Leuven with a master in Mathematical Engineering in 2020, after which I started a PhD on Continual Learning at the lab of prof. Tuytelaars at the same university. I obtained my PhD in early 2025 and after a 8-month postdoc studying OCR algorithms for Cuneiform writing, I moved to the VUB.
My main research interest concern the learning dynamics of machine learning algorithms and the influence of different and changes in data distributions.
