Atelier coordinated by Katrien Beuls

This atelier offers you the chance to get a deeper insight into on of the four case studies presented in the morning on the emergence of syntax (word order/ agreement) and the evolution of grammar (quantifiers/ case). We will go through each step of the experiments in more detail and explore the related research questions that arise on our way. In this way, you will not only gain understanding of the agent-based methodology that is applied but also of the mechanisms that support grammaticalisation processes to occur.

Alternatively, you can choose to work on your own projects in computational construction grammar, grounded compositional semantics or language games under the supervision of the lecturers of the previous days.
