Biography

Jérôme Botoko Ekila is a PhD researcher at the AI Lab’s  Evolutionary and Hybrid AI (EHAI) team. He started his PhD in 2021 under the supervision of Katrien Beuls and Paul Van Eecke. Jérôme graduated from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) as a Master of Science in Computer Science with a specialisation in AI.

His current research focuses on learning emergent communication to achieve robust, flexible, and adaptive agent-agent and human-agent communication. This topic is studied through the lens of the language game paradigm and the framework of multi-agent reinforcement learning.
