Deep learning for electricity markets (Enervalis)
The student will work with deep learning algorithms for the characterization and analysis of electricity markets. In particular, the work will focus on European electricity markets at different scales, as well as the context specific factors and interconnections that affect them. The rising role of renewables (such as solar and wind) in electricity generation will also be considered.
As a secondary objective, generating optimal control policies for reacting to these prices will be investigated in a deep reinforcement learning framework.
Students will be expected to split their time between the VUB AI lab and the Enervalis data science.
