Note: This researcher is no longer affiliated with the VUB AI Lab!
I joined the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (AI Lab) in February 2009 as a Lab Manager. My task is to run the lab and follow up all European projects that are running at the moment (ALEAR, EUCogII, COMPLEXDIS). I co-edited and designed the English edition of the book "Open Systems Science" by Mario Tokoro, President of Sony Computer Science Laboratories, Inc.
In August and September 2009, I was responsible for the general management of the First International Summer School of the Evolutionary Linguistics Association on Embodied Language Games and Construction Grammar. I am founding member (treasurer) of the ELA, the Evolutionary Linguistics Association, which is focussing on organizing events and developping an on-line open access Journal in the domain of Evolutionary Linguistics. I am also responsible for the development and maintenance of the AI websites.
Past
I am an Art historian and graduated in 2006 at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. After that I also studied Cultural Management at the University of Antwerp. Before I joined the AI Lab at the VUB, I joined the Brussels Biennial team as an assistant curator to shape the first Brussels Biennial for contemporary art in February 2007. We successfully set up this exhibition which ran from 19 October 2009 until 04 January 2010.
